THE COWS OF THE FUTURE
I quote-posted a Czech television clip that kitze had called a "beautiful explanation" of something that is "100% happening." The video runs about two minutes, from the Czech news channel CT24, with English subtitles over the Czech interview.
In it, a guest explains modern finance through cows. Selling a cow is simple: I sell you the cow, you transfer me the money. But how, he asks, do you explain the bond market to a cow when the bond market controls its life? The cow cannot understand the market. The market controls the cow anyway.
His point is about people, not cattle. For most of us, bureaucracy is already difficult, and the financial and legal systems around us are more sophisticated still. We live inside systems we do not understand.
The interviewer draws the conclusion out loud: "Which means that we are the cows of the future."
My whole comment: "this is a MOO-ving argument, sadly."
